Install date: January 2007 Our latest
installation included pre-filtration before the membrane
filter and odour and taste removal after the membrane.
The well on this property produced shale water which
contained cloudy fine turbidity particles suspended in
the water and that would not settle.
This system had a 300 foot well producing 2 gallons
per minute which was not enough to supply the water
demands for the house and property.
The existing system was a large storage tank that had
chemicals injected into it to coagulate the particles
and have them settle to the bottom of the tank.
The clear water was then sucked off the top half of
the tank with a booster pump and then delivered to a
series of filters in order to reduced turbidity and
residual chemicals that were injected into the water for
this process.
Over a period of time the sludge build-up would
become two feet or greater at the bottom of the tank
which would eventually need to drained to remove the
toxic mud at the bottom, which was very labour intensive
and messy.
We removed all the existing system including pumps
and chemical feed tanks (etc) and reinstalled a chemical
free, membrane system which is shown on the right.
The owner is thrilled with the new system because of
the removal of the chemicals and now having clean,
crystal-clear water rather than mud and chemicals. He no
longer has to endure the task of cleaning this large
holding tank of its contents (mud, chemicals, etc).

This was a totally chemical free system. |
